At Highland, we understand that families have unique schedules, so we have developed a series of Before and After School options for families to choose from. Below is a brief overview of what we offer.

Before School Program

7:00am – 8:30am

Before the school day starts, children in our Before School Program can play games, read, and hang out with their friends in a nuturing, supportive environment. All Before School children are offered an optional free breakfast in the gym starting at 7:45 am.  Although we will accept “drop-in” care for families that need before school childcare on occasion, discounted weekly rates apply when you sign up your child for the semester or the full year!

CHECK Program: Children’s House Extended Care for Kids

11:30 – 3:30 pm

The Children’s House Extended Care Kids Program, or CHECK Program, provides extended care for our K-3 students when their primary classroom day ends at 11:30am. Students enrolled in the CHECK Program are picked up from their primary classrooms by program staff and lead to their afternoon activities. They enjoy recess, lunch, a nap, and classroom activities. At 3:30 pm, when the school day ends for all HCS students, children in CHECK have the option to participate in the Children’s House After School Programs.

After School Programs

3:30 pm – 6:00 pm

All children participating in our After School Programs will start their time off with an after school snack to be followed by outdoor time, art activities, group games, and more! Our After School Programs are modeled to compliment the Montessori classroom experience. Children choose materials or “work” off shelves in a similar way they do in their classrooms. Likewise, elementary groups are in mixed-age setting, which mirrors their experience during the school day.

Toddlers (Before school is included in the Toddler Program)

  • Under 2 years $273/weekly
  • Over 2 years $251/weekly 
  • Toddler afterschool 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm $55.00/weekly 

Before School 7:00 am – 8:30 am $4.00 per day/$13.00 weekly

CHECK program (K3) 11:30 am – 3:30 pm $95.00/weekly

After School Early Care 3:30 pm – 4:15 pm $27.00/weekly

After School Late Care 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm $55.00/weekly

After School Part-Time/Time Share Options available for families needing care for two or three consistent days of the week with a 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm pick-up. See staff for rates and availability.
